Resetting Windows 7 password by Sethc
If you forget or lose your Windows 7 password, you'll need to reset the forgotten password to regain access to your computer. Actually, there are lots of methods for you to reset the password.
For doing this you will need a boot-able Windows 7 DVD
Here goes the Tutorial
- Insert Your Boot-able Disc in drive and boot your PC with it
- Now select Repair your computer option from the windows on the left side bottom
- Now from the Window select Command Prompt option .
- now type
copy c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe c:\
- and then type
copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe
and after that type yes
Now reboot your pc and on the login screen press shift button 5 times
Command Prompt will appear
type :- Net user username password
Replace username and password by desired new username and password
That’s all there is to it. Now you can login.
Of course, you’ll probably want to put the original sethc.exe file back, which you can do by rebooting into the installation CD, opening the command prompt, and copying the c:\sethc.exe file back to c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe.
