WTC 2023 Final: How DRS Saved Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammad Siraj

The recently concluded World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final between India and New Zealand witnessed some nail-biting moments and incredible performances. One aspect that played a significant role in shaping the outcome of the match was the Decision Review System (DRS). Let's take a closer look at how DRS proved to be a game-changer, saving Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammad Siraj during crucial moments in the final.

Ajinkya Rahane's Crucial Reprieve

During India's first innings, Ajinkya Rahane, the team's vice-captain, found himself in a tight spot when he was given out lbw (leg before wicket) by the on-field umpire. Rahane, however, decided to review the decision, and the DRS technology came to his rescue. The replays showed that the ball had made contact with Rahane's bat before hitting the pad, overturning the on-field decision. This lucky break allowed Rahane to continue his innings and make a valuable contribution to India's total.

Shardul Thakur's Controversial Dismissal Overturned

Shardul Thakur, known for his aggressive batting skills, faced a similar predicament during India's second innings. The on-field umpire raised his finger, declaring Thakur out caught behind off the bowling of Tim Southee. However, Thakur was confident that he hadn't made contact with the ball. The Indian team decided to take the review, and the replays revealed that the ball had brushed Thakur's pad and not his bat. As a result, the decision was overturned, giving Thakur a second chance to prove his mettle.

Mohammad Siraj's LBW Decision Reversed

Mohammad Siraj, the young Indian fast bowler, found himself on the receiving end of a contentious lbw decision during New Zealand's innings. The on-field umpire adjudged him out, but Siraj felt confident that he had managed an inside edge before the ball hit the pads. The DRS review showed a clear mark on the bat, confirming that Siraj had indeed made contact. The original decision was overturned, granting Siraj a lifeline and boosting the Indian team's morale.

The Impact of DRS on the Final Outcome

These instances highlight the pivotal role played by the Decision Review System in the WTC 2023 final. The correct application of technology ensured that the deserving players were not unfairly dismissed and had a chance to contribute to their team's cause. The use of DRS added an extra layer of excitement and accuracy to the game, proving once again its significance in modern cricket.

Conclusion

The WTC 2023 final will be remembered for many reasons, and one of them is undoubtedly the crucial interventions made by the Decision Review System. Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammad Siraj's reprieves highlighted the effectiveness of DRS in rectifying on-field errors and maintaining the integrity of the game. As cricket continues to evolve, technologies like DRS will play an increasingly important role, ensuring fair outcomes and adding excitement to the sport.

Sudan Achieves Momentary Peace: 24-Hour Ceasefire in Effect

Introduction

In a significant development towards peace, Sudan has declared a 24-hour ceasefire, marking a pivotal moment in the nation's quest for stability. This temporary truce comes after months of unrest and conflict, offering a glimmer of hope for the war-torn region. Let's delve into the details and explore the implications of this groundbreaking ceasefire.

Sudan's Pursuit of Peace

Sudan has been grappling with internal conflicts and political turmoil for years, leading to widespread suffering among its people. However, today's declaration of a 24-hour ceasefire signals a tangible step forward. The Sudanese government, in collaboration with key stakeholders, has recognized the urgency of peace and has taken this bold measure to promote dialogue and reconciliation.

An Opportunity for Dialogue

During this ceasefire period, all parties involved in the conflict are encouraged to engage in meaningful discussions to find lasting solutions. The temporary halt in hostilities provides a much-needed breather, allowing warring factions to consider the devastating consequences of continued violence. It is hoped that this respite will foster an environment conducive to negotiations and pave the way for a comprehensive and sustainable peace agreement.

International Support and Mediation

The international community has expressed its support for Sudan's ceasefire initiative. Recognizing the significance of a stable Sudan for regional security, neighboring countries and international organizations have offered their assistance and mediation services. This backing from the global community adds weight to the efforts of Sudanese leaders and enhances the prospects of a successful resolution.

Humanitarian Relief Efforts

The temporary ceasefire also offers an invaluable opportunity to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid to the affected regions. Civilians caught in the crossfire will now have a chance to access medical assistance, food, and shelter. Aid organizations are mobilizing resources to provide immediate relief, working tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the prolonged conflict.

The Way Forward

While a 24-hour ceasefire is merely a first step, it signifies a crucial turning point in Sudan's journey towards stability. It demonstrates a willingness among the conflicting parties to pause hostilities and seek peaceful solutions. To capitalize on this momentum, sustained efforts from all stakeholders are imperative. The international community must continue to support Sudan's peacebuilding endeavors, encouraging dialogue and facilitating negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and enduring peace agreement.

Conclusion

Sudan's declaration of a 24-hour ceasefire brings a ray of hope amidst the longstanding conflict and instability. This temporary pause in hostilities allows for crucial dialogue, international mediation, and the delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid. As the nation navigates its path towards lasting peace, it is essential for all parties involved to seize this opportunity, working together to build a prosperous and harmonious future for the people of Sudan.

Hmm.. I think this is new for you people so I have to tell you what is windroy ?
windroy is an Emulator to run Android on your PC , It comes with an Inbuilt SDK so you don't need to download anything except Windroy executable files ,that you can get over the internet easily.

You need to download the executable, Install it and that's it... Nothing about making virtual drives, allotting memory and blah blah.....

for installing any application you need to download the apk file put it inside the app folder which exist in the Windroy/data folder and when you run the windroy file it will automatically install and it will be added in the app menu..
This thing doesn't contain pre installed play store .......
Some latest apps don't work due to the older SDK of android in Windroy though the team keeps updating things you just need to have updated ..

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BLUE STACKS

I will suggest to you Blue Stacks only because in comparison to Virtual PC it's smaller in size and is very better than both Virtual PC and Windroy because in Blue Stacks you can install the apk from outside source by just double clicking on it and It's can also install apps directly from the google app store as well as apple store ...
It's uses less computer resources that Virtual Box's virtual PC and Windroy.
It's has very user friendly UI....
Though some latest apps don't support installation on it due to older SDK but the team keeps updating the SDK ...
You can't use game cache in Blue stacks because it expands the apk at the time of run time..
It's works rough than expected but better than others....
In my opinion Blue stacks is the best if compared to Virtual Box's virtual PC and Windroy .....
so enjoy the Android experience on your PC using Blue Stacks...
I am going to post after a very long time, because I am very busy these days ... Today I am going to tell you how to make your computer speak to you once you log in to your PC ...

Yes, I know I sounds very Interesting so I am not going to gossip more ... I am starting the tutorial, I am going to attach a screenshot to show how to use it ...

Friends This is based on a simple code that is written in VBS (VBS means Visual Basic Script)
You must be thinking that You will have to install VBS before running this , my answer is no because Windows itself uses VBS to perform many tasks so once you install windows to your machine , you are free to run VBS scripts/..

How and Where to write the code
Hmm You will not need any compiler or anything to write it . We are going to use Notepad...

Steps are very simple .. Hmm In fact there is only one step
Open the notepad , write the code and save it as name.vbs

Hello Friends . I am going to post something after a very long time .

Today I am posting out of my Genre . I am going to tell you that "Which one is better, Android or Symbian"
I am focusing on large domains as tested by me ..

so, Here goes ..

An operating system is something that connects the user with the hardware .So, a user need a good OS for doing so , The operating system should be user friendly so that any user can easily connect to the hardware .

I think Android is better than Symbian , this is my opinion and I am going to prove this in all aspects so keep reading . ... :)
If I talk about Microsoft OS for mobiles i.e Windows 8 OS , this one is really complicated.. The complicated METRO UI ..
so I am leaving Windows 8 OS aside, because there is no comparison between Android and 8 ..

Really a heart winning OS ..

I must start with the boot time, It mainly depends upon the hardware but specifically If we take an example both take the same time to boot ..

UI - User Interface, The best user interface that any OS has till now, It is really very easy (friendly) that even a 6 year child can use it easily :D, Highly customisable , Everything can be customised ./

Apps- A large app market , Almost every thing that a man can think off can be done using the apps in the app store , It has very very large database of apps, I don't think that I need to elaborate about the apps , everyone knows about the no of apps that are available for android .

Requirements- Yes, Android requires a good phone hardware configuration to run but it's worthy because of it's user interface and One click access to almost everything

Battery- I have heard many talking about bad battery performance of Android and saying that the battery drains due to the non essentia services running in the background. Android runs everything simultaneously in background (Your Facebook, Your Email and many one ) and that's why battery is used more .You get your facebook, Email at just one click at almost 0 lag (depending on network connection), So I don't think that Android runs non essential things in the background.

Customisable - The Android is a OPEN SOURCE project so anyone can customise/develop/arrange the entire OS for his/her use , But the phone hardware should support the customise OS ..
(Phone hardware support here means the ability of the hardware to run the OS on it)

I will rate Android 4.5 out of 5

SYMBIAN

The boot time, I have discussed above that both Android and Symbian have almost same boot time if checked on same hardware configuration

UI- A normal one , Symbian don't come with very attractive user interface like android , It just serves the need of User Interface

Apps- Very Small database of apps as compared to Android , Limited apps can be run into the Symbian operating system

Requirements- Requires average configuration of hardware . Can run on a slower device too

Battery- Less services in the background , Giving better battery backup but not very useful because a user wants instant access to services that are not provided by the Symbian OS

Customisable- Very less customisation options, more chance of failure during OS Changing , Very hard to recover if goes dead while installing the custom firmware

I will rate Symbian 2 out of 5

The think may differ from person to person but the final result will be same. ..

In this post I am focusing on using it in virtual box ... Because I don't think that anyone is going to use Android x86 as main OS of computer ...If you want you can do that too...

In the next menu select VDI

Then either Dynamically allocated or fixed size

Now select drive space and finish it

Hello Readers ... Today I am going to talk about the two really nice features of Windows 8 namely Refresh PC and Reset PC ....

All windows users love to play games, install new apps , download things and test many softwares, some of us like to test customisation packs, Themes to change windows look and feel..
When we do all this with our windows we get many problems as system becomes slow, low performance we start facing random errors because the themes and customisation packs have to do a lot with windows system files to change its look and feel...Some times simple removing of malicious program (Themes, Customisation packs, any Customisation software) but sometimes we have to reinstall windows (The last option to get rid of the errors , if nothing works it will work) then we have to arrange for installation media (i.e Windows Installation Disk) ..
But if you have the new windows OS i.e Windows 8 then you don't need to search for the Installation disk because windows 8 comes with two inbuilt features Refresh PC and Reset PC
They are same as the Restore factory settings options that you get in mobile phones..

In today's tutorial I am focusing on what are the features and how to perform them...

Refresh PC :-
If you use this feature then

Windows will save your personal files, personalisation settings, and apps that you installed from the Windows Store

Windows will reset all PC settings.

Windows will remove all those program that you have installed .A list of removed programs will be generated on the desktop

You can use this feature if your apps are crashing ...

so it's like installing windows from scratch ..

For this move your cursor to the charms bar or Press Windows+C

Click on settings

Select 'Change PC Settings'

Move to General tab

Hello Readers , Today I am going to tell you how to Boot your Android Device into Safe Mode , Recovery Mode and Download Mode.....

I will explain the use of these modes one by one with the procedure of getting into these modes ........

Firstly I must tell you that all these modes are different not same , every mode is designed for specific purpose.

This tutorial is specific to Jelly Beans

Safe Mode

You must have heard about the safe mode inside Windows , hmm a mode with minimal services, this mode loads only android system apps..Yes if any 3rd party software is malfunctioning your device or you are getting battery drain problem you can check is there an application responsible or something else..even you can try this if you have boot loader problem...

Procedure:-

1- Press your power button

2- You will see a dialog-box with options like Power off, Data network mode, Flight mode and Restart (try with power off too from the dialog box)

To get out of safe mode just restart it .... .. .. :P

Note:- In safe mode you can only use the softwares that you have got pre installed in your device.. i.e. No app downloaded from Google play store will not appear.....

Today I am going to tell you How to Dual Boot your PC
I am focusing on Windows 7 and Windows 8 along side... but this works for every version so give it a try....

What is Dual Booting ?
Yes it's perfectly same what you get from its name ... Dual Booting is to Boot your PC with Multiple OS (No not simultaneously but separately) by this you can install Windows 7 along side with Windows 8 in your Personal Computer (PC)

Why should you Dual Boot ?
It's really a great thing ,by this you can fight many compatibility problems like You want to play GTA 4 or anything that is not going to support your OS (Windows 7 or 8) but it's compatible with another OS . So be ready if you have Windows 7 and Windows 8 installed ,you can play your game on an OS and at any instance you can use the other one....... Because it's sure for a game your are not going to change your OS..
So, Here is the Solution Try it !!!

It will affect the Performance of my PC , Will it ?
No.. Not a single bit at all..... Because you are going to use one OS at a Time ,and the performance depends upon the Processor and RAM .
Ya your OS can affect the performance it's like you are installing Windows 8 on a Dual Core PC and with 1 GB RAM , it may work slow but it's not by Dual Booting , if you use only one OS (Windows 8) you will get the Same performance....

I am a newbie and it's going to be tough for me to Dual boot , Is it?
I don't think so .. What I think is if you can start a computer you can do anything with it .You may get errors if you are doing for the first time but we learn from the errors ..
It's Really easy ,what you have to do is you have to install an OS in a different partition and that's it..
So you should give it a try .. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am sure that after reading all written above you are going to Give Dual Booting a Try

So now I will tell you How to do so ????

Hmm for an other OS you will need a Partition so firstly create a Partition ..Or let me start from the beginning

You have Windows 7 installed on Your PC .. You want to Install Windows 8 alongside.. Ok

Now create a partition for example name it Windows 8 with any Drive letter
(You can create partition using any partition manager ..but I refer EaseUs partition manager)

After this mount your Windows 8 ISO . Run Setup.exe

move toward the partitions selection menu
and here select Windows 8 partition that we have created in the start
Now after that, begin the installation progress...

That's all .. you have dual booted
Isn't it easy.. :)

Now how to Shift between different OS?

Option-1

Hello friends today I am going to tell you about Game Cache..
What is game cache and How to use it in your android phone ?
Many of you , on seeing Game Cache with a game leave the game and think who will download this Game cache , what will happen if it will not work ,my 150-200 MB will be wasted .. So I will not download the game.....

So today I will tell you What is Game Cache? ,Why is it needed and How to use it ?

so starting with ---
What is game Cache
Cache is a part of game that consist of Music, Videos and Image, usually large files. We need it to run the game properly. Usually users don't want to download such big file in one go so they can download the game and game cache separately .

How to use it ??

For better understanding I am taking example of an Android game CSR racing

Size:- Game (35.2 MB) and Cache (117.1 MB)

so

For this game you need to download the game and game cache (I am attaching the download links)

Game (Download link)
Cache (Download link)
Credits for game -android.mob.org

Cache Directory- For this game the directory for the cache is [ sdcard/Android/obb ] , For different games this will be different, the directory is usually given in the Game description

1- So you have to download the Game and cache to your pc
2- Install the game
3- Copy the cache (ZIP) file to your phone
4- Now you have to use File Explorer to extract the cache to the specified directory (you can use any File explorer as - (Xplore)
5- Open the "obb" folder, where you've extracted the cache archive. There would be a folder (1353608252_com.gameloft.android.anmp.gloftzrhm) with subfolder (com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftZRHM). Move the subfolder (com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftZRHM) and its contents to the "obb" folder, and delete the remaining empty folder (1353608252_com.gameloft.android.anmp.gloftzrhm)
6- That's all. Now you can play the game

Errors
1- If the game asks for additional files to download that means you have put the Cache in wrong directory

Note:- When you Remove the game the cache is not deleted automatically you have to delete it manually

Hello Friends I am going to post a new article after very long interval because of my busy schedule....... Today my article is about a problem of Joikuspot with Android I also faced the problem that's why I am posting this here....... I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3110, that is a tablet with no SIM slot but WiFi connectivity , it works on Android Jelly Beans V 4.1.2 .... Really great version ...now I am coming to the problem directly without wasting time, The problem will be clear as you see the post of the title "Joikuspot connection not visible to Android"

I made my Nokia 603 (Symbian ^3) as hotspot using Joikuspot (This is an app used to convert a Symbian mobile phone into WiFi hotspot) but when I searched for WiFi networks I found nothing ... Yes when we use our Symbian mobile phone as hotspot using Joikuspot we can't use this in Android some though some versions support this but ICS and Jelly Beans don't recognise it....

Actually the problem is with the type of connection created by Joikuspot, it creates an ad-hoc connection which is not recognized by many Android devices that run ICS and Jelly Beans (Tested), I googled this very much but not found any solution yet I will share the solution as soon as possible

Firstly I rooted my Tab using Super user SU and successfully got it rooted then,
I tried to replace the Wpa_Supplicant using root explorer and terminal emulator and used the below command

su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
chown system.wifi /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
exit
exit

and also used the adb shell on my pc to solve this error by uisng Android USB cable Debugging mode...
I also tried WiFi enabler, Ad-hoc Enabler, WiFi tether and many other apps to Enable Ad-hoc in my Tab but nothing worked, in fact while doing all this my WiFi got permanently disabled.......

so, please don't try to do this with your Tab if you have the same problem wait for the Android developers to Enable this feature with WiFi direct...

Hm..... and if you have the solution of this problem you can comment below or use contact us form to tell the solution globally.........

Thank you for reading my article...
Note:- This is for educational purpose only

Today I am going to tell you a simple trick to customise/edit the WEI 'Windows Experience Index'.... You can get it by clicking on Performance Informations and Tools from Control Panel ......
The windows Experience index is a tool to measure your computer's performance, based on its hardware and software configuration. It consist of sub scores of CPU, RAM, GPU.

The scores completely depend upon the configuration of your system but you can edit it and fool anyone easily ....... Even you can get 9.9 out of 9.9 by following some easy steps ...Hmm so here goes the core ....

All the scores of the WEI are saved in a XML file when you run the assessment .... so if you want to edit the scores you have to edit the XML...
It's located inside the Data store folder in C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\
you will get several files there, like formal assessment, Graphics assessment etc........you have to edit the Formal assesment.Winstat files using Notepad.......

just open the "Formal assesment.winstat" with notepad and edit the score you want............ in below image you can see I searched for "Graphics" (Using Ctrl+F) and changed the score you have to do the same with others also and If you face any difficulty while searching simply search the scores like 3.9 or 5.3 and whatever your previous score is and replace it with the New one....

Note:- To save the XML first right click on the file, click on properties then select security and give full control to your user account by ticking on the full control option

for tutorial I have changed all my score to the highest possible score i.e. 9.9 .... Don't forget to search for system score and change it otherwise the base score will not be changed ....

Hello Friends.......Today I am going to tell about the "System Reserved" Partition of 100 MB which is seen mainly after clean installation of Windows....

What is Microsoft Reserved partition?
The Microsoft Reserved partition / System Reserved partition, which is also known as MSR is a partition on a data storage device.
Microsoft requires it on every GPT disk, The initial size of MSR is 32 MB on disks smaller than 16GB, and 128 MB on other disks, however it may shrink according to the size of other partitions

Is it Important?
Yes, If it's included with installation, how can it be useless it is of use when you want to use BitLocker Drive Encryption Feature though it looks empty when you try to open it .......................

Can I remove/hide it?
Yes you can, For this you have two options one is to reinstall your Windows and other is to simply hide it........... I prefer the second way because 100 MB is not that much for which you will install your Windows . so I am going to discuss the way to hide it from My Computer...If you don't want to see this Partition because it irritates you, then keep reading ... so I am focusing on hiding it ..

Tutorial:-

Go to Control Panel then open Administrative tools

Now click on Computer Management that is the second option you can see in above picture..

You can see that you are getting many options like computer management , system tools, storage in the left side .. you have to select Disk Management under the storage menu

Now Right click on the system reserved partition and from context menu click on change drive letters and Paths

Now select the Drive Letter and click on Remove ......

This works in every version of windows ...... This tutorial refers to Windows 8 .....

That's it you are all done..The System Reserved Partition is gone from 'My computer'...It has gone invisible so it will no more irritate you ... :P
Hello Friends ........ :)

I am going to tell you the solution of an error with Symbian Belle FP2, Actually I don't know that anyone else has the problem or not ...but I faced this problem and found the solution while thinking from where the error is coming from.......

I am posting the solution here on Tekntricks for those who are facing the same problem

I was using Nokia 603 with Belle FP1 (Feature Pack 1) , Till FP1 there was no error but I upgraded by Firmware to Belle FP2 using FOTA update ( Firmware Over The Air ) successfully I tried hard and finally I got the solution for the "Certificate Error" ..... I rooted the phone using the Safe manager method of belle FP2 rooting ...

In this method I used Safe manager to update the swicertstore.dat file present in the directory C:/resource/swicertstore/dat/ and then used Rompatcher to patch installserver.exe and root the phone .....From then when I tried to remove any app from the phone I got the error "Removal Failed"

Solution

If you are getting this error then You have to Disable the patches from the Rompatcher menu and that's it

Error is solved now ...Now you can remove any application without getting any error ......

after removing application just apply the patches again to avoid certificate error....
I think this error is caused by the patches we use in Belle FP2

Today I am going to tell you how to use Windows 8 in Virtual Box.
If you want to test windows 8 this is the best way to do so.......

You will need Virtual Box for this procedure.

Virtual Box .. What is Virtualbox ?

It's a software that helps to create Virtual Machine to run an operating system with other (Simultaneously).......
It's easy to use because it's UI based ... It supports both x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) architecture and you can download it from the official site because it's a free ware developed by ORACLE
You can configure it according to your system hardware so that you don't face any problem in running virtual machine . It supports many Guest OS almost all (Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint, Windows XP, Windows 7,Windows Vista Windows 8 etc)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After installation open virtual box....

Click on new

Type name for your Virtual machine
select type - Microsoft Windows
version- windows 8

After this you will see the prompt for the allocation of Memory size for your virtual machine select according to your system requirements(I have selected 1GB because my system's RAM is 2 GB )

Now click on create a virtual hard drive now and press next

select VDI in the next menu

In next menu you can select both dynamically allotted or Fixed size as you will see in the menu it's written that fixed size is faster so select fixed size

select the size and click create

It will take about 5-6 minutes to complete this process.

After completion the windows will close..

Go to Virtual Box select windows 8 and click on start it will ask for start up/Host drive .....
Browse you Windows 8 ISO image to it and go on
That's it now now you will see windows 8 boot screen
The .NET Framework is a framework which is developed by Microsoft that run mainly on Microsoft Windows.. . .. .

It consist of large libraries and inter operatibility so that any language can use the code written in other.

Programs written in .NET Framework executes in a software environment which is usually named as Common Language Runtime also known as CLR..so we can deduce that .NET consist of class libraries and the common language runtime

The .NET Framework's base class library provides a user interface which is also named as UI, data access, databases, network communications and many more things .......

A programmer produces a software application by combining the .NET framework with the code written by him.

Microsoft also made Visual Studio to easily implement .NET framework with application code ...

You can download it from official site of Microsoft

simply copy the files of windows 8 into a drive
open command prompt with elevated privilege (with Administrator rights) and type the command given below
Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:F:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess

Note:-The letter F: should be replaced by your driver letter

you can also use Daemon tools to mount the ISO image of windows 8 into your virtual drive and use the command
Importance
Some software need DOT NET to run ...

.Net is a software framework that provides a lot of options and functionality to Programming languages, and apps, design to use it. It provides support for the data structures that are complex, It also provides the access to system services includeing files, XML reading and writing etc.
It's most valuable because it binds VB and C++ into a common base.... . . . . . .
It greatly simplifies the creating of powerful apps and with Visual Studio it has become more easy, one can turn around complex apps much easier
ASP.NET is for server pages (Active server Page)
